Mol. Weight:20.0 kDa
Biological_Activity:Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by its ability to inhibit the TNF-? mediated cytotoxicity in the L-929 cells is less than 0.2 ?g/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ? 5000 IU/mg in the presence of 0.25 ng/mL of rHuTNF-?.
Purity:>97% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC.
Endotoxin:Less than 1.0 EU/µg as determined by LAL method.
Form:Lyophilized powder
Buffer:Lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered PBS, pH 7.4
Reconstitution:We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20?/-80?. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.
Notes:Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4? for up to one week.
Alternative Name/ Alias:Tumor necrosis factor receptor 2, Tumor necrosis factor receptor type II, TNF-RII, TNFR-II, p75
Relevance:Receptor with high affinity for TNFSF2/TNF-alpha and approximately 5-fold lower affinity for homotrimeric TNFSF1/lymphotoxin-alpha. The TRAF1/TRAF2 complex recruits the apoptotic suppressors BIRC2 and BIRC3 to TNFRSF1B/TNFR2. This receptor mediates most of the metabolic effects of TNF-alpha. Isoform 2 blocks TNF-alpha-induced apoptosis, which suggests that it regulates TNF-alpha function by antagonizing its biological activity. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:12370298}.
