Collection: Long PCR

Long PCR is PCR of long or large ragments, often also referred to as long-range PCR. In order to perform long PCR, not only the cycling times need to be increased, but also the polymerases need to be modified. Specific formulations with Taq DNA polymerase spiked with a low amount of proof-reading enzymes such as Pfu DNA polymerases are often used (W M Barnes (1994) Proc Natl Acad Sci U S A. 91(6): 2216–2220.)
