Protein Description:Full Length of Mature Protein

Tag Info:Tag-Free

Mol. Weight:28.8 kDa

Biological_Activity:Fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by inhibiting IGF-II induced proliferation of serum free human MCF-7 cells is less than 200 ng/ml, corresponding to a specific activity of ? 5.0 × 103 IU/mg in the presence of 15 ng/ml of rHuIGF-II.

Purity:>98% as determined by SDS-PAGE and HPLC.

Endotoxin:Less than 1.0 EU/µg as determined by LAL method.

Form:Lyophilized powder

Buffer:Lyophilized from a 0.2 µm filtered PBS, pH 7.4

Reconstitution:We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Please reconstitute protein in deionized sterile water to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL.We recommend to add 5-50% of glycerol (final concentration) and aliquot for long-term storage at -20?/-80?. Our default final concentration of glycerol is 50%. Customers could use it as reference.

Notes:Repeated freezing and thawing is not recommended. Store working aliquots at 4? for up to one week.

Alternative Name/ Alias:IBP-3, IGFBP-3

Relevance:IGF-binding proteins prolong the half-life of the IGFs and have been shown to either inhibit or stimulate the growth promoting effects of the IGFs on cell culture. They alter the interaction of IGFs with their cell surface receptors. Also exhibits IGF-independent antiproliferative and apoptotic effects mediated by its receptor TMEM219/IGFBP-3R. {ECO:0000269|PubMed:20353938}.
